Acing The Interview: The Positive Approach To Tough Questions

By Ford Myers As a Career Consultant, I work with clients on all the tools and techniques that are needed to succeed in the job search including interviewing skills. One thing I have noticed over the years is that candidates often get trapped in certain interview questions that are designed to make them say something negative or self-defeating (which generally leads to rejection). Indeed, job-seekers are not even aware of how negative many of their answers sound at interviews! So, I instruct all my clients to never say anything negative, or anything that could possibly be construed as negative! Candidates can avoid being disqualified by stating all their answers in positive (or, at least, neutral) terms. The following are some of the most commonly-asked interview questions,t is important that job candidates practice these responses until they are able to handle all the questions effectively. along with suggested approaches for answers. I Why do you want to work here? How can you help our company? Why should we be interested in you? Answer is always based on information youve researched in advance about the company and their needs. If you were choosing someone for this job, what kind of person would you select? Answer is to generally state your own general qualifications, without being too obvious. Leave out the details. If you could have any job which one would you want at this company? Answer has to do with the most general description of the job NOT A SPECIFIC TITLE. What weaknesses do you have for this job? TRAP QUESTION. Never state anything negative! Answer is to ponder for a while and then state that you cant think of any weaknesses that would compromise your performance at this job; or negatively impact your performance of the jobs responsibilities. What do you expect to get in this job that you havent gotten in you current/previous job? TRAP QUESTION. Do not say anything negative. State that your current/previous jobs have met or exceeded your expectations. With the new position you would hope to have broader responsibilities and make greater contributions. What do you see as your future here? I would expect to be contributing at higher levels and have increased responsibility over time. Are you considering other positions at this time? TRAP QUESTION. Simply say yes. How does this opportunity compare? From what Ive heard so far, very favorably and I would like to learn more. What other companies/opportunities are you looking at now? As Im sure you can appreciate, Im not at liberty to say as I am still in discussions with these companies. I need to protect their privacy, as I would for your company under similar circumstances. What are your short and long term goals? Short range: To secure an appropriate new position where I can apply my skills and experience to increase the companys productivity and profitability. Long range: Assume more responsibility and make greater contributions over time for my employer. What motivates you? Focus the answer on your core values, and also on the values and priorities of the company you are interviewing with (which you should have identified through your preliminary research). What have you done to improve yourself during the last year? Talk about professional development, training programs, educational curricula, study in your field, on-the-job training, skill-building, relevant books youve read, etc. How do you spend your spare time? Say something inoffensive, apolitical and innocuous. (reading, exercise, travel, home projects, gardening, family activities, home projects, etc.) Tell me about your health. My health is excellent. If you could re-live your last 15 years, what changes would you make? Nothing is perfect, but overall I would say that Im quite satisfied with the way my life and career have developed so I wouldnt make any significant changes. Tell me about your greatest achievement/disappointment in your life. Give one personal example (like meeting your spouse and getting married; putting yourself through college and graduate school; or saving-up to buy your first house, etc.). Then give your best professional accomplishment story. As for the disappointment, give an answer similar to the one above, implying that overall, I would say that Im quite satisfied with the way my life and career have been developing, so I really cant think of any major disappointments. What did you like best/least about your last job? TRAP QUESTION. Never state anything negative! Explain what you liked best. Then say that while every job has its challenges, you have been fortunate enough to learn and grow professionally in each of the positions you have held. In your last position, how much of the work did you do on your own, and how much as part of a team? Which did you enjoy more? Talk in terms of your flexibility and adaptability your ability to work in whatever mode seems appropriate to the situation. Make it clear that you have been equally effective in teams or working independently, as each case demanded. You enjoy both; its more about what will work best for the project and the company at that time. What are some of the more difficult problems you have encountered in your past jobs? How did you solve them? Tell two or more pre-prepared accomplishment stories. Keep it POSITIVE! Did you ever make suggestions to senior management? What happened? Say yes. Tell some accomplishment stories and results, in which you positively influenced senior management. At your previous job(s), what did you think management could have done to make you function more effectively as an employee? TRAP QUESTION. Never state anything negative! Say that the employer was very good in providing resources and support to your position, and that you have no complaints about this. What has kept you from progressing faster and farther in your career? TRAP QUESTION. Never state anything negative! State: I dont know what could have given you the impression that I am dissatisfied with the progress and pace of my career. I am quite satisfied with where my career is at this point in my life. However, I am ready to take on greater challenges. What else should we know about you? Tell one or two more of your best accomplishment stories. You can also repeat how well-suited you think you are for the opportunity, and how interested you are in the job. Tell me about the best/worst boss youve ever had. TRAP QUESTION: Never state anything negative! Say that while every boss has been different, you have worked productively with, and learned something from, each one. (Be prepared to give some examples of what you have learned.) Everybody likes to criticize. What do people criticize about you? TRAP QUESTION. Never state anything negative! Say that you cant think of any criticisms you have received from colleagues on the job. Of course, there have been areas for development such as when your supervisors would have given you your employee review, and they might have made a suggestion for improvement. State that you have always taken these kinds of suggestions seriously and have taken steps to make the improvements that were requested, and that this has made you stronger as a professional. (State at least one example). Everyone has pet peeves. What are yours? TRAP QUESTION. Never state anything negative! Turn this question around, by talking about your high professional standards. Your only pet peeves are with yourself pushing yourself hard and not accepting mediocrity, for example or how you are always striving to reach your full potential on the job, etc. What is your leadership style? Talk in terms of your flexibility and adaptability your ability to lead in whatever mode seems appropriate to the situation. Explain that its more about what approach will work best for the project and the company at that time. Give an example or two, demonstrating different leadership styles, using your accomplishment stories. Are you geographically mobile? (or) Are you willing to put in a lot of extra time? Ask for clarification what exactly does the interviewer mean? Then, according to their answer, either say, that would be no problem at all, or tell them youd like to give it some thought and get back to them within 24 hours. You dont have the experience/background for this position. How could you handle it? Say youre confused by their comment, that youre quite confident that you DO have the experience and background for this position, and that youre a very strong match for the responsibilities. Ask what specifically concerns them about your background; whats missing in your experience? (Sometimes the interviewer is just testing you.) Re-state your qualifications as needed, tying your accomplishment stories to the employers requirements. Youre overqualified for this position, arent you? (even if you are slightly overqualified) State: No I see a lot of challenges in this opportunity, and Im sure that I would find the work extremely interesting. Give some examples of what you mean, and talk about the new dimensions of experience and skill that you would bring to the position, almost as though you would expand the level of contribution in this job, thus making it more than it is at present. We have all the information we need. Well be in touch. Take the initiative. Ask such questions as: Where do I stand? Am I being considered as a strong candidate? When should I expect to hear from you, or would you prefer that I contact you in a day or two? What is your time-frame for making a final decision? Is there anything else I can provide to facilitate the process? etc. Then re-state your strong interest in the position and your confidence that your background is an ideal match to the job. In conclusion, I strongly recommend that you prepare for your interviews by studying and practicing these answers. Get someone to help you, by doing a role play, in which your friend can be the interviewer and you can play the part of the job candidate. You will reduce your anxiety, boost your confidence and perform much better if you know your lines in advance! And remember never say anything negative in a job interview! ———————— Permission to Reprint: This article may be reprinted, provided it appears in its entirety with the following attribution: Copyright 2006, Ford R. How to Write a Winning Personal Ad

By David Kamau This is fact. There’s competition in online dating. A winning personal ad is must if you hope to get the right guy or gal. This article is not about revealing “secrets” of writing personal ads as there’s no such animal. But follow the following tips and you will stand out of the crowd, which you must do to get noticed. First draft your ad on a separate piece of paper or type it on a word-processing document such as Word, WordPad, and Notepad etc. Here are 12 steps to writing a winning personal ad: 1. Be honest: If you’re serious about finding that special someone don’t, repeat don’t, lie. Nothing’s as disappointing as finding out the guy/gal who claimed in emails that he/she works out regularly at the gym is 300ibs of adipose (fat) tissue. 2. As they say, a picture is worth a thousand words. Most people look at the photo before they even think of reading the ad. You may email, upload or mail the photo for scanning, all free. But please don’t use a picture of yourself when you were twenty if you are now 44! And oh yes, a smile helps too. 3. The top-rated dating sites allow you to upload a voice message with your ad. Your voice as well as manner of speech tells a lot about you. Use it the right way- no pretences please- and your ad will get attention. 4. Don’t just say what you think people want to hear. Example, if you say you have a healthy sense of humor, yet your ad is dull and boring well, they just won’t buy it. 5. Be realistic. Maybe you want to introduce some athletic genes into your family tree, but you will have a hard time finding an international Kenyan runner online. 6. Let your personality come through. Conversational style writing works best. If you have a sense of humor, use it but in good taste (don’t tell a dirty joke in a non-adult website, please). Ditto if you have a poetic touch- just don’t baffle them with Shakespearean speak. 7. Create an attention grabbing headline. Don’t be just another “DWM, 42, Seeking Love”. Be different. A little homework will help here. Study the personal headlines that grab your attention. Use these as model. You can even steal a headline or two, just don’t say I told you so (wink). 8. Describe yourself. You do know yourself, don’t you? Don’t be just another “Likes candle light dinners”. Who are you? What’s important to you? Do you enjoy long drives while appreciating nature’s beauty? Do you like Bach or Mozart? List these down. 9. This is more of an extension of #8 above: Instead of rambling on about the person you’re looking for, write about you own characteristics and personality. Put yourself in the other person’s shoes and ask yourself what you would like about YOU. List these down. Please be honest. All the same, avoid cheap modesty. If you have a special talent (example, you can play the piano really well), let it be known. Just state it as fact and not brag. 10. Be positive: You may be desperate and miserable, but please don’t let it show. Negativity repels. Likewise avoid “this is me, whether you like it or not” mentality. Not only is it obnoxious, it also reeks of insecurity and/arrogance. Be yourself, positively. 11. Polish your ad: You wouldn’t show up on your first date with unkempt hair and dirty clothes, I trust? Then check your ad for misspellings, bad sentences etc. Remove all the bits that might not interest your potential date. Be brief without losing essence: patience runs very thin online. Re-write till you’re completely satisfied- this might seem a pain in the rear, but the payoff is worth it. 12. BE HONEST! This can never be overstated. Finished? Now you can transfer (or copy and paste) your extraordinary ad on to your favorite dating site and submit. A Wedding Tradition That’s Worth Keeping

By Lesley-Ann Graham So many things about weddings have become traditions. We follow them because… well, that’s how weddings that we’ve seen growing up have been done. Question is: do these traditions really contribute to the ultimate wedding or are they nothing more than superstitions? Are they nothing more than outdated habits? Here is one wedding tradition that still has merit… On the day of the wedding, the bride is asked to wear or carry something old, something new, something borrowed and something blue. This tradition is a simple process and a sweet way for the women of the bride’s family, particularly the bride’s mom, to acknowledge the changing status of the bride and to show their love and support. This is actually good for helping to calm those wedding jitters. Usually the “something old” takes the form of some personal items given from mother to daughter, sometimes as accessories that the bride is to wear on the day such as a necklace or earrings. The “something new” stands for the new family that is about to be formed, and bracelets are a common choice for this. The “something borrowed” is supposed to come from a happily married women. By lending the bride something to use on her wedding day, they also lend some of their married bliss to carry into their new family. Last, but not least, is the “something blue”. The color is associated with purity and modesty. While the color is pretty, it doesn’t quite go with all the white. Perfect solution: it is common nowadays to have a blue and white garter. Now isn’t that a wedding tradition worth keeping when you tie the knot? Alzheimer’s Toxin May Be Key To Slowing Disease

By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Mike_Freije] Mike Freije Australian scientists say they have identified a toxin which plays a key role in the onset of Alzheimer’s, raising hope that a drug targeting the toxin could be developed to slow the degenerative brain disease. The toxin, called quinolinic acid, kills nerve cells in the brain, leading to dysfunction and death, the scientists said. “Quinolinic acid may not be the cause of Alzheimer’s disease, but it plays a key role in its progression,” Alzheimer’s researcher Dr Karen Cullen from the University of Sydney said in a statement. “It’s the smoking gun, if you like.” “While we won’t be able to prevent people from getting Alzheimer’s disease, we may eventually, with the use of drugs, be able to slow down the progression.” Alzheimer’s is a brain-destroying disease that affects millions of people around the world. As the population gets steadily older, experts estimate numbers will balloon to as many as 16 million in the United States alone by 2015. More than 200,000 people have Alzheimer’s disease in Australia and the number is expected to rise to 730,000 by 2050. Outward symptoms start with memory loss, which progresses to complete helplessness as brain cells are destroyed. In the brain, neurons die as messy plaques and tangles of protein form. The Alzheimer’s research team from Sydney’s St Vincent’s Hospital, the University of Sydney and Japan’s Hokkaido University found quinolinic acid neurotoxicity in the brains of dementia patients. Quinolinic acid is part of a biochemical pathway called the kynurenine pathway which is also found in other brain disorders, including Huntington’s disease and schizophrenia. The scientists said there were several drugs in an advanced stage of development for other conditions which targeted this pathway and that these drugs, which still need to be tested, could be used to complement other treatments for Alzheimer’s. “Building on what we’ve found and others have found, it’s likely that they would have significant effect,” said Professor Bruce Brew, director of neurology at St Vincent’s Hospital. Making The Baked New York Style Cheesecake Recipe

By Andrew Krause The baked New York style cheesecake recipe, on its surface, looks like one of the more simple dessert recipes. It’s a fairly simple set of ingredients, and the mixing and baking is fairly straightforward. So why does it so often go wrong? Well, part of the problem is in the name: cheesecake. Right there, you expect it to act like a cake in the baking process. The problem is, it’s not really a cake at all. If you were to take a hundred cooking school graduates who had never heard of cheesecake and present each of them with a slice of baked New York style cheesecake, all of them would most likely identify it as a pie… or at best a custard. Let’s start with the crust. Cakes don’t normally have a crust other than what bakes up when they cook, right? Well, your cheesecake needs a crust or you’re going to have containment issues. This is not usually a traditional pie crust, but rather a blind baked mashed-together construction made of graham crackers, cookies or other baked goods. Then there’s the composition of the cheesecake itself. The baked New York style cheesecake begins life as a very thick batter that bears a vague resemblance to traditional cake batter, except for the fact that it contains little or no flour depending on your recipe. The baking is different, also. One of the secrets to New York style cheesecake success is a fairly moist baking environment, which means using a water bath. Have you ever seen a cake recipe that called for the pan to be placed in a larger pan with water in it? So, for cheesecake success, you might want to stop thinking about it as a cake. Think of it as a pie-cake hybrid, or better yet as a custard that needs some extra care in the preparation, but will yield sweet rewards when it’s done. The baked New York style cheesecake recipe is simple, but can be unforgiving if you don’t treat it right. Mustard: The Greatest Among The Herbs

By Gwen Stewart Mustard plants have been used for thousands of years for their pungent flavour in condiments, spicy greens for side dishes and salads, and in traditional folk medicine and Chinese herbal medicine to treat a variety of ailments. The name mustard comes from the Latin mustum ardens, or burning must. It was so named because as the seeds were pounded with unfermented grape juice, or must, their pungent qualities developed, hence burning. Mustards seeds are mentioned in ancient Sanskrit writings dating back about 5,000 years ago and the Bible calls mustard the greatest among the herbs. Valued for their intense flavours and healing properties, mustard seed and the plant itself have been grown for its beautiful yellow flowers and spicy seedling leaves. Members of the Brassicaceae family, mustard is a cruciferous vegetable related to cabbage, Brussel sprouts, kale, kohlrabi, Chinese cabbage, cauliflower, rutabagas, turnips, radishes, horseradish, cress, and broccoli with the attendant phytochemicals properties. Mustard is categorised as a food, medicine, spice, and condiment. White mustard (Sinapis alba) also known as yellow mustard is a native of North Africa, central Asia, and the Mediterranean. This is the mustard that is used extensively in the production of American prepared mustards, as it is the least pungent. Brown mustard (Brassica juncea) is native to Asia and is the seed used to prepare specialty mustards such as Dijon. Canada is the worlds largest exporter of mustard seed and among the top five producers in the world. Saskatchewan produces over 80% of the domestic total and the brown mustard seed used for Dijon mustard comes from Saskatchewan. Mustard seeds contain many healing properties and have been used for centuries by Chinese herbalists to treat abscesses, bronchitis, colds, rheumatism, toothache, ulcers, and stomach disorders. They are an excellent source of monounsaturated fats, phosphorous, and a good source of iron, calcium, zinc, magnesium, and manganese. Mustard seeds have been shown to help reduce the severity of asthma, decrease some of the symptoms of rheumatoid arthritis, and help prevent cancer. Mustard plasters are still being used today to treat rheumatism, arthritis, chest congestion, aching back, and sore muscles. To make a mustard plaster, mix equal parts powered mustard and wheat flour, dilute the mixture with sufficient cold water to achieve a soft paste. Spread on a clean cloth such as cotton flannel, linen, or several layers of muslin. Remember that mustard is a hot herb and contact with the skin may cause blistering and should be avoided. Leave on for approximately 15 minutes. If the patient complains at any time during treatment, remove the plaster immediately. After the plaster is removed, bathe the treated area with cool (not cold) water to stop the burn. Dry the area and finish up with a dusting of baby powder or cornstarch to soothe the skin. Mustard greens are the leaves of the mustard plant Brassica juncea. Mustard greens originated in the Himalayan region of India and have been grown and consumed for more than 5,000 years. All young mustard leaves can be used for mustard greens, however Chinese mustards or mustard greens (Brassica juncea var. rugosa), broad-leaved mustard greens, or (Brassica juncea var. foliosa), thin-leaved mustard greens, are the best mustards for greens. These varieties are also known as gai choy, Indian mustard, leaf mustard, mustard cabbage, Bamboo mustard cabbage, and Sow cabbage. Mustard greens are a staple vegetable in many cultures around the world. They are used much as spinach, dandelion, or beet greens are used (see recipe for Sauted Mustard Greens). Mustard greens are an excellent source of vitamin E, vitamin C, and beta-carotene. They also contain vitamin B6, folic acid, magnesium, calcium, iron, niacin, vitamin A, and are an excellent source of phytochemicals thought to prevent cancer. In Chinese herbal medicine, mustard greens are used to treat bladder inflammations and to stop hemorrhage. Eating mustard greens is thought to offer great benefit to individuals suffering from conditions ranging from asthma to heart disease to menopausal symptoms. Mustards are annuals and grow from 2-4 feet (60-120 cm) tall. The flowers produced are yellow and the white mustard flowers have a slight vanilla scent. They are known as cruciferous plants because they have four-petaled flowers, two long and two short that resemble a cross. Both mustards have pungent-flavoured, broad, dark green, jagged with irregularly cut lower leaves. Mustard is a cool season crop and bolts quickly in warm weather. Mustards can be started indoors or planted directly into the soil in early spring. If you are starting mustards indoors, adequate light is essential. Hang lights 3 inches (7.5 cm) above the seedlings and leave lights on for 16 hours a day. They prefer a rich, moist, well-prepared soil with adequate drainage. Plant seeds at a depth of inch (6 mm) and follow directions on the seed packet. They grow best in full sun and need to be kept moist during the growing season. Space mustards 6 inches (15 cm) apart. Harvest your mustard plants for greens when the leaves are young and tender, for cooked greens when the leaves are mature, and for seed when the seedpods take on a brownish tinge. In the kitchen, whole mustard seeds are used in sauerkraut, cabbage, pickles, relishes, curries, sauces, pot roasts, and to flavour meats such as lamb, pork, and rabbit. Use fresh flowers as an edible garnish or cook flowers for 2-3 minutes in boiling salted water. Drain and serve with butter and sea salt to taste. Mustard seeds can be sprouted and used in salads, sandwiches, or as a garnish. Young mustard greens are great additions to salads and stir-fry dishes. To make your own mustard condiment, grind, crack, or crush the mustard seeds. Macerate the seeds in wine, vinegar, or water. Make sure the liquid is cold as this causes the chemical reaction that releases the heat and pungency of the seed. Grind them into a smooth paste, adding herbs and spices such as tarragon, horseradish, crushed hot peppers, turmeric, garlic, pepper, paprika, ginger, or hot pepper sauce. Additional options are honey, dark ale, beer, whiskey, wine, wine vinegar, Scotch, or brown sugar. Fruit mustards are made with lemon, lime, orange, or berries. (If you dont want to bother with grinding your own seed, start with mustard powder or use your favourite prepared mustard and add whatever additions you like.) Prepared mustard is used in vinaigrettes, marinades for meats, poultry, and seafood, mayonnaise, salad dressings, sauces, soups, and stews (see recipe for Basic Mustard.) Prepared mustards get their intense yellow colour from the addition of turmeric. Basic Mustard cup (125 mL) ground mustard seeds cup (50 mL) ice cold water cup (50 mL) vinegar (white, wine, cider) 2 Tbsp. (30 mL) sugar (to taste) Grind, crush, or crack mustard seeds. Add the water to the ground mustard and stir. Let sit for 30 minutes in the refrigerator, then add remaining ingredients and blend. If you wish, add herbs or substitute wine for some of the vinegar. Pour into sterilised jars to seal. Refrigerate mustard. Sauted Mustard Greens tsp. (2 mL) olive oil 1 clove garlic, minced 1 small onion, chopped 1 lg. bunch mustard greens Wash mustard greens well, dry, and remove coarse stems. Chop stems into small pieces and leaves into 3 inch (7.5 cm) pieces. In a large skillet, heat olive oil on medium, add onions and garlic and stir-fry until onions are wilted. Add stem pieces, small amount of water, and place lid on skillet. Cook for a few minutes until stems are slightly tender. Add leaves and saut until all liquid has evaporated and greens are tender. Season with sea salt or soya sauce and serve immediately. This recipe can be used for other greens such as spinach, Swiss chard, dandelions, and beets. By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=L._Winslow]L. Winslow Today IBM has Spectral Imagining Technologies which are somewhat different than Holographic Projection Technologies, yet they can in fact replicate the images we saw in the Star Wars Holographic Video Projection Communication Device. The future is here and it is available now. IBM’s first application was for Sales Presentations at Trade Shows which makes sense as they used the technology itself to introduce it to the Industry at an Industry and Association Sponsored Trade Show. IBM Has many Multi-Spectral Imaging Patents and their projection technologies are state of the art in need of more applications and smart, well funded entrepreneurs to license these technologies and run with them. Record Yourself for Future Great Grandchildren One obvious use of Holographic Projection Technologies or Spectral Imagining will be the ability to leave messages to future generations, allowing common sense wisdom to pass on beyond the normal human life span. All ready Holographic Wills are replacing video wills as parents hand down their last wishes and gifting instructions to their kids and grandkids. This trend will continue and more holographic features are soon to come. Holographic projection technologies were once thought to be magic. But now they are available and we will see them in every facet of our lives from entertainment to advertising. We will see them in corporate training modules, simulators and even our education system. The number of applications for holographic projection technologies and spectral imaging will be intense. This will be a very interesting time to be alive as these technologies hit the streets and our living rooms. If you want to learn a new dance step you’ll have a holographic dance partner instantly. The kids video games will come alive with life-size villains and a realistic challenges to test and hone their skills. L. 5 Absolute Easy Ways To help Burn Body Fat Faster

By Jason Oh Looking to burn body fat the right way and quickly? Here are 5 basic, essential tips you must do to burn body fat now! 1) Eating Fruit And vegetables Helps To Burn Body Fat -Low in Fat and low in calories; -High in fibre, vitamins and minerals that satisfy the body nutrient requirements and eat less; -Flushes out wastes and helps reduce craving for sweets; -Maintains your energy level; -Reduces excess body acids; -It contains 70-80% water and by eating a sufficient amount(10 servings a day), it will keep the body hydrated properly; -As it is rich in vitamins, it activates the enzymes in our body. Enzymes are essential for metabolic activities that take place in our body daily. Without question fruits and vegetables supplies all the necessary nutrient requirements for our body’s vitality. And importantly it provides a very fast burning source of carbohydrates, and as carbohydrates is the main source of energy, your body will burn it quickly rather than being stored and converted to body fat. Unlike bread, rice and pasta which are high source of carbohydrates, it takes time to burn the source and thus not all the energy will not be used which subsequently converts to body fat. Consider eating more fruits and vegetables daily to burn body fat away! 2) Drink Water If you want to burn body fat quickly, drink a minimum of 16 glasses of purified (filtered or boiled) water a day. Water will flush out harmful toxins, increase your metabolism and importantly make it difficult for the body fat to accumulate. 3) Start Exercising first thing in the morning Burn body fat by committing yourself to morning workouts for at least 30 minutes to an hour. Research have shown that by exercising in the morning, you will burn three times more body fat than working out at any other times. Why? All the carbohydrates stored during the day from your meals will be used up for various bodily functions that happens during you sleep. When that primary source of energy is finished, your body is forced to seek an alternative secondary supply, which is your body fat! Thus when you wake up, your body will not have any carbohydrates as energy to use, and instead will look to burn body fat for energy. Not only will you burn body fat during a workout session, it will continue to burn body fat at an accelerated rate after the workout. This effect is due to the intense session of cardio or aerobic workout which increases your metabolism rate for hours after the workout. Therefore exercise first thing in the morning before breakfast to maximise the opportunity to burn body fat. 4) Do Light Resistance training before An Aerobic Or Cardio Workout During the first 20 minutes of any exercise the body will not burn body fat, instead your body will burn glycogen (a source of energy for the muscles) Basically, you have to do a minimum of 20 minutes worth of light resistance training or weight lifting. This will raise the metabolism rate up to between 100-200%, and you will burn body fat quickly. 5) Eat Breakfast Having breakfast is a great way to boost your metabolism. By skipping breakfast, your metabolism will run slower which mean the body will not burn body fat. Your body needs energy, and breakfast provides that source which allows your body to burn body fat! Not only that, breakfast helps to stop those cravings later in the day, and maintain your energy level whilst lowering stress levels. The above five essential tips are a great start to plan for a ‘Burn Body Fat’ program. With the right plan to stay focused, and by taking action, you will burn body fat and drop your pant sizes! -Want To Build Muscle And Lose Fat At the Same Time? The Myth of Fast Weight Loss

By Arina Nikitina You will be surprised to find out how many people are actually looking for a fast weight loss program. Why fast? Well, first of all, most of us are impatient. We live hectic lives. We want results now, we want to notice the change right away, and we don’t want to work hard to achieve those results. Most people eat what they want all year round, prefer TV over exercising and dream about how next week (or month/year) they are going to start a healthy lifestyle. Suddenly one day they realize that it is just 2 weeks left before they have to go to a Christmas party or that summer is coming up and they want to look good in the new bikini. Usually around this time I get hundreds of emails - all of them pretty much the same “I have this event coming up in two weeks. I need to lose about 10-15 pounds. What is the fastest way to do it?” Of course TV and Internet is full of commercials that promise you to lose 20 pounds in two weeks. They even show you tons of pictures of fit, smiling people with perfect bodies. Just pop a magic pill 3 times a day and you will turn into a supermodel right away. Sounds good, right? I hate to disappoint you but this is just another scam created to get your money. There is no such thing as fast weight loss. I’m sure I’ll get some infuriated replies like “That can’t be true! My friend Maggie lost 16 pounds in two weeks doing Low carb diet!” Well you are in for another disappointment. Your friend didn’t lose any fat. She lost water and muscle. Human body is a well coordinated working mechanism. It has no idea that you’ve decided to fit in a size 8 dress and doing some new fad diet. It thinks you are starving. Its too concerned about survival to allow us losing weight fast. Instead your metabolism slows down to conserve the energy. As soon as you’ll start eating normal food you’ll gain all of your weight back and some extra pounds in addition to that. To make it simple fast weight loss is always followed by fast weight gain. No exceptions. In addition to that when you lose weight too fast, your skin does not have enough time to shrink, it will become loose. The right amount of weight that the average person can lose in one week by eating correctly and doing exercises is around 2-3 pounds. That is a healthy, safe, effective amount to lose. Only that way you can get long lasting results. I know it is not as fast as many people would like to lose weight, but think about it how long did it take you to gain weight? I bet you $1000 dollars you didn’t gain 20 pounds in two weeks. It is only logical, that your body will not allow you to lose 20 pounds in two weeks. Sorry! I’m trying to save your money here, so repeat after me “There is no machine, no special diet, no special workout program, no special pill or special patch that will help me to lose weight fast and healthy at the same time”. Repeat it to yourself every time you have an urge to buy some “quick fix” no matter how appealing it sounds. Remember people who have created these commercials are professionals who know what you would like to hear. Don’t let them fool you. Just try to eat right and work out. Be consistent. Make one little step at a time and you’ll be surprised how far you can actually go.
